We left home at 2:30 for our 5:20 Southwest Airlines flight
to the Dallas airport. The flight left on
time. We arrived at the Dallas Love
Field airport, got our luggage and then headed for the Hertz rental car via
shuttle.
When we arrived at the shuttle place
we found that our car rental was at the DFW airport some 20 miles away. It turned out that there was another couple
there (from Anchorage, Alaska) that had the same problem. So, we took the shuttle back to the airport,
got a taxi, and went to get our car.
This ended up taking us about an hour and a $42 cab ride.
Then we drove to our hotel in Burleson …
another hour. Got there at 10 pm. The temperature in Dallas was about 20 degrees
… much colder than we expected.
Fortunately, the hotel (Best Western) was OK and room was nice.
